Around this time of year, I have to hydrate!! Of course, nothing works better than increasing your water intake, but here are some great go-to products you can find easily on Amazon, and a few of them are under $20. They also make great gifts!

Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil. I apply about once a week and let set at least a few hours before washing my hair.

Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Mask. This works well on my fine hair. I apply once or every other week before a workout, pull my hair back in a slick pony and wash out afterward. If you need more hydration, wear it overnight.

Laneige Lip Mask. I received this a few years ago; it is part of my bedtime routine. Around the holidays, you can find gift packs.

Laneige Glowy Balm. Use during the day for super moisturized, glistening lips. The Gummy bear is my favorite.

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Rescue Lotion. I keep this one on my bedside table and put it on before falling asleep, or even better, your significant other does it for you. Thanks babe!

Peter Thomas Roth 5piece Mask Kit. It’s a great sampling that will last a while.

Stanley Tumbler. I finally gave in to the trend and got a Stanley. I completely understand the craze now. It is easy to refill, so I can sip on water all day to stay hydrated. I love that it fits my car cupholders and keeps my water ice cold. Plus, it goes in the dishwasher.

I am not a doctor, and I don’t play on TV. I can’t tell you what supplements/vitamins you should be taking, but I can share which ones I take that make me feel good.

  • Vitamin D

  • B-Complex with C

  • Biotin

  • Women’s Probiotic

  • Whole Foods Stress Support

  • Magnesium

  • Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

It’s a short list, which makes it manageable for me. I eat healthily and try to get most of my nutrients through food. I added Vitamin D daily last winter, which has made a massive difference in my energy and mood.

The trick with taking vitamins successfully for me was figuring out the timing. I have found that the afternoon works best, except I take the magnesium at night. If I take them in the morning, I feel nauseous. If I take them at night, I get heartburn. Again, this is what works for me and I am not saying it is for everyone.

We can’t control the world or others, but we can build a solid foundation that allows us to be happy and experience joy even in tough times. Here are four steps I incorporate into my life to give myself that solid foundation. These are things you can do to ensure your peace and happiness regardless of what is going on around you.

Step One: Surround yourself with good, loyal friends that build you up and want to see you happy.

Step Two: Do things you love. For me, I love to hang out with friends/family and laugh, read, write, run, go to the gym and meditate. Unfortunately, it’s easy to get caught up in what you have to do and not make room for what you want to do. To avoid this, incorporate the things you love into your daily life.

Step Three: Have life goals. I list five things I am grateful for every day and plans I want to achieve. An excellent exercise to help define your goals is to write out what you want your dream life to look like in 5 and 10 years. Then, write goals that help you achieve that life. For the most part, my goals remain the same every day. However, they may evolve over time. It’s exciting when you reach goals knowing that they were just a dream not too long ago. This helps me stay focused on what I want from my life and filter out any noise that contributes to meeting my goals.

Step Four: Find joy every day. Everyone has challenging times; even in those times, you can find moments of joy. A good friend, the sun is shining, a hug from your child are all great examples of joy. Breathe those moments in and savor them. The more you practice this, the easier it becomes, and you will soon be finding joy all day long.

Let me know what's on your mind
